I have an 8 or 9 year old CC 2130 and the trans does seem to slip a bit (after several attempts at explaining my wife still thinks its a hydro and 'rides the clutch' in 6th gear). Anyway, i was wondering if a hydro conversion is a relatively simply task or not.

Matt, the hydro and the gear models have completely different transmissions, converting is not that difficult, it is very time consuming, and fussy work.

It also requires a lot of parts, likely a whole other tractor as a "donor" unit.

Here is where logic meets desire.

If you have a second tractor, with a hydro drive transmission, why would you carve it up in order to also carve up your original unit and swap the parts???

Do yourself, and your wife a favour, find the hydro tractor you want, buy it, and sell your gear drive unit.

I'm willing to bet it will be cheaper, and certainly wouldn't take as long to do either.

Best of luck. ....

Well, err, ummm.......

How about this, usually 'he' desires a toy.. errr, a tool. :)

But logic says he has to get it past SWMBO first... :(

Best of luck.

I was hoping the hydro pump would bolt directly onto the AG trans. Looks like it would in the manual. If it would couldnt ya just leave the trans in a certain gear and leave it alone?

If I could find an entire rear drive asm cheap I'd just swap them. The tractor looks and runs like brand new (other than the clutch slipping a bit).

Either that or buy a lot of shims to keep around. ....
