Often, when I'm lining up the 3point to a piece of equipment, the pins ,clips and snap rings end up falling off the vibrating tractor into tall grass slowing the process down. You may have seen these stainless steel saucers with a rubber covered magnet on the bottom for mechanics to put small parts into that can be placed on any steel surface nearby as they work. The magetism is transmitted through the base and holds the pins etc even if the saucer is not entirely level. Cutting the rubber off the bottom of the magnet increases its "holding power". Placing this some where reachable on the back of the tractor has solved my problem of losing the hook-up parts. I only paid 3 bucks at a "liquidater/close-out place for it.

Nuclear_ weapon 7, I'm not sure I understand your question; I tend to lose the pins and snap rings before they are installed in the appropiate top link or in the lower 3 point lift arms as I'm trying to get lined up. Sometimes I'm repositioning the tractor, I'm off the tractor raising, lowering or adjusting the 2 lower lift arms, or levering the implement to get holes to line up. Sometimes I may be persuading alignment with a hammer and need a pin close by. Devices such as 'Freedom Hitch" sound great but you still got get the PTO connected. ....

RCH You are right. I also sometimes lose lock pins but these are mostly lost while tillering or cultivating and are impossible to find in the field.
