Hello. I'm about ready to give up on this old tractor. I love it, but I can't seem to find snow blower parts for it. I found a snow blower on ebay, that seemed to have the same mounting profile to the tractor -- however there seems to be a host of parts I CAN'T find for it. It is supposed to operate off the tractor's front output. But, from what I can tell, there's supposed to be a clutch of some sort. There is also a cylinder on the blower that looks to be a lift cylinder. I have no idea how this will get fluid power if I take off my front in loader and remove the pump from the shaft, that the blower is supposed to replace?

Does anyone have this setup? If so, can you send some photos. I love the old tractor, and I don't want to sell it if I can get this function out of it.

The snow blower pulled from the three point hitch power beyond for hydraulics. The front drive was from a crank mounted shaft that had an electric PTO clutch mounted to to the end to drive the blower. With most machinery over twenty years old some things get harder to find. ....

Do you think I should just punt, and then try to get and adapt one of the 47" deere blowers for my tractor? I suppose i'm lost on how to get this tractor to blow snow, front mounted. Using the bucket is a loosing battle here. Too much snow, too little space to stack it. ....

My thought are you have a gear drive! The clutch assembly and shaft could be expensive to build. It wasn't but a couple of years ago I rebuilt my Volvo AQ131D and made it a 151 for the extra ponies. I was buying parts on E-bay and I thought the prices were good. When I was nearly done a whole engine came up and I bid on it. It is in my garage with out a purpose as I thought someone else would have bid more, it was less then the parts I bought to make mine one! We have sold those blowers off some trade-ins and they were n the two hudred dollar range with everything. You might find yourself spending a lot more. I missed this part! Patience! there will be one available sooner or later! Watch E-Bay as I know I've seen them there often with a tractor and they have too high of a minimum. To run off the pto and have it stop everytime the clutch is engaged will be very frustrating. The added weight in the rear will help it push a lot more. ....

The other option if you're handy with a welder, or know someone who is, is to get a 48" 3pth blower, and make a little subframe and hanging gear box, and make a front mount blower of your own.

I've done a few of them, they're not much more than an easy weekend project if you have all the parts ready. Maybe a 12 hour job in total, and that includes the coffee.

Best of luck. ....

The forum seemed to remove the rest of your message. Apparently, I'm not a member of the forum just yet, to the level that it will allow me to do lots of things.

I wonder if it is because their hosting is expensive? I'd be more than happy to provide hosting.

So, if you want to type a message over 4 lines long, you'll need to send it to my ajsplayerspecial at hotmail dot com address. ....
