I may of found part of my brake problem from last year and beyond. I had the recall for the anti locks and the corrosion problem. That seemed to help last winter when they cleaned them but I still felt like the brakes would anti lock too often!. I may of found part of the problem?
How many of you out there ever change your shocks on a schedual? Tell you the truth I dont think I ever changed shocks and I have owned a few vehicals that I kept for more than 100K. I see my shock (front) leaking???
A DAH!!! How dumb can I be? I noticed about 2 months ago how at 80mph if I hit a bump, I litterally would be thrown to the side (the whole truck) so much so that I slowed down cause I thought I could lose control?
All my shocks are shot! I cant believe I went this long not realizing it? 2 full winters ago when I was fixing my brakes I thought only my front may be braking since I felt the truck dipping when a brake was needed.
Im still hoping that this will fix my never ending anti-lock brake problem.

I hear you on this one! Worn shocks are an accident waiting to happen. They are often forgotten and wear out so slowly that you don't realize they're shot. After 120K miles, I've just ordered some Bilsteins and sway bar links for my rear wheel drive Chevy. I understand that the old bounce test is no longer an acceptable test with modern suspensions as they are so tightly sprung they won't bounce much sitting in the driveway. ....

I read an industry publication for repair shop owners that showed how to make money working on the GM antilock system and be a hero in the process. They were quick to point out that even the GM dealers didn't know what to fix. They called it a "Fixes Under $50". They showed a $35 switch at the base of the steering column (if memory serves) which is for the transmission position selector. (if memory serves) when it goes bad the computer senses a problem and wreaks havoc with the ABS. The switch is about 3" long, and crescent shaped since it mates to the steering column. ....

Hmmm- Think I will look into that, Thank you! If your memory recalls anymore please let me know.
The new shocks are wonderful BUT I still have an anti lock problem. I FRIGGIN HATE THIS CRAP! I can not remember a truck that I ever have had that has NOT had a anti problem sooner of later My last ford had it to!
You cant tell me that after driving and braking over a rough spot in the road coming to a stop sign that the anti-s should be going on almost everytime I brake and hit a rough spot. ....

Broken:
Do you have oversize tires on the truck? I had a Blazer that I put slightly oversize tires on it and they always tripped the anti-lock.

If it is bumpy (washboard gravel road) and they trip, maybe you're going too fast! ....
