With the change of season it won't be long before I no longer have this problem but I'm confident winter will return next year. I have a problem with garage doors, actually the gasket at the bottom of the overhead doors, freezing to the concrete floor in inclement weather. I've tried things like WD40 and silicone spray on the gasket but it doesn't seem to do much good. Does anyone else have this problem and a possible solution? I'm tired of prying the doors loose or thinking they aren't frozen, only to have the doors bouncing open and cringing at the abuse to the opener.

We use a good dose of protectant spary, like armour-all, or any good product like that.

The trick is though, to be sure that the cement under the door is very smooth, get some cheap bar soap and scrub it into the cement to top-dress it so it's as smooth as a new-born babys bum.

Between the smooth surface from the soap in all the little depressions and the soap itself the ice can't stick.

Come spring rains the soap all washes away.

Best of luck. ....

Thank you Murf, I'd never have thought of the soap. I'll try that and the Armour-All as soon as the weather permits. We're having some snow right now. Steve ....
