Does anyone out there know the correct H.P. for a Yanmar 1401D,both engine and Pto H.P.Thanks in advance!

The 1401 is a Japanesse model. They rate tractors on drawbar hp. The pto is about 20% higher. The conversion from pto to engine hp is not as constant, but on that size it is also around 20%. A 1401 would be 14 drawbar x 120%=16.8 pto.hp. 16.8.x120%=20.16 engine hp. I would not call the engine figure very reliable. I'd stick to the pto figure. ....

Greg,The Japanese tractors have never been tested for sale in the US, so there is no reliable way to tell what the proper H.P. would be.Yanmar Japan calls this a 14 H.P. tractor. The rating system is not the same as ours, however from looking at the American Yanmars, John Deere tractors with the same engines, and from using these tractors, it is fairly safe to say the Japanese H.P. rating is very conservative.I have a dyno in the shop, and I am planning to place some of my Yanmar tractors on it to get an accurate PTO H.P. reading.If there is any interest in these test, I will publish these numbers when I get them.You may be interested in joining the Yanmar tractor owners group at the link below.Jay ....

I must be club-challenged. I tried four times to join the Yanmar tractor club and can't get past the submit password. Apparently, one of my cookies failed (whatever that means). The 2210 Yanmar tractor is a Two cylinder. 22 engine hp with pto hp 10 to 15% less than that. ....

Len My left brake froze up and I destroyed my brake shoes and linning getting free. My brake drum looks pretty rough also. could you price me out for a set of shoes and also shoes and brake drum? G`day to all.If you think its tough getting parts and info where you are you should try it from down here in Oz!!
I have a 1600 and I`m looking for parts/service manuals.
There was mention in one string about a Yanmar club - sounds good to me. Any info regarding what to watch for re my 1600 would be greatly appreciated as I`ve only just purchased it ( tractor # 8 in total)with 550 hrs on the clock.Thanx in advance for any help given.Regards Pete ....

I did a quick search but didn't find manuals for a 1600, although I hear that such things come up sometimes on e-bay. I guess you're aware of the relationship between JD and Yanmar. I don't know if the 1600 is similar to one of the JD models in N.A., but a JD manual might help some.
