I bought a Mitsubishi 32 horse 4x4 tractor. Love it !!!!!!!!!!!
I drive around 2 wheel drives on hunt club to pull them out.
I have 4 PTO speeds and I do not know which one is the 540 speed for a king kutter tiller.
HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'Fraid I don't know the tractor and I haven't heard of a 4-speed pto but that doesn't mean much. 3-speed drives are fairly common and give 540, 750 and 1000 rpm. A fairly safe bet is that the slowest is 540--at least I haven't heard of a slower speed.
Other issues are whether the output shaft accepts a standard CAT I pto shaft and whether the direction of rotation is standard. For tiller use it's handy to be able to go very slow. If it's not an HST, it would be good if it had a very low gear. ....

I was thinking the same thing..... the slowest is probably 540. I have never heard of anything running slower than that. ....

Don, you could test each positon with the engine off. Put a mark on the pto and the engine crankshaft pulley. The trick is to get your engine to turn exactly one rotation and stop (or close to one rotation). If rated power is at 2000 engine RPM then the PTO setting that turns the shaft about 1/4 turn is the correct one. You can test all the settings this way and have a scale factor that will tell you how fast the PTO is turning for any selector/engine RPM combination. Common sense safety rules apply.

I called the dealer I bought it from and he said the speeds are as follows. #1 540, #2 750, #3 1000, #4 1200.
I knew when I bought this grey market tractor, The one that would get me where I need to go to service my deer plot's, that I would have to learn alot of things on my own. I am glad I found this sight. I just hope I don't regret not buying an older Ford or Massey. ....

Can't find a bed of roses anywhere. Nobody promised me one either except for those who want votes and I don't believe any of them. I have a mid-80's Ford compact. Fine tractor but I dread thinking about the first time some major breaks. Parts costs for the Japanese compacts are outrageous and some are now unavailable through NH.
I suspect you'll have a good experience with your tractor--grey or not. I might be a good idea to track down shop and parts manuals. If you have them you can do a fair bit of the maintenance, and independent mechanics need them for specs and procedures. ....
