I have been told to stay away from the New Holland Boomers, that they aren't as good as the Kubota and John Deeres. I think this may be some type of brand loyality problem. If anyone has praticle info with reguards to the Boomers service records please give an answer to this post. I would like to hear from other owners and operaters. Thanks for your time ,

I test drove a boomer last summer and the thing that did NOT impress me about it was the engine. It smoked a lot, was noisy, and hard starting. The dealer told me that they were working on a new head design to compensate for this. ....

I test drove a TC25 and TC29. They did smoke quite a bit when first started (it was a brisk 20 degree day), and the dealer told me that they are shipped with a fuel additive for extra lubrication, that makes them smoke more than normal. As I recall, they did stop smoking after a minute or so. I don't remember them being excessively noisy. I have read the older boomers didhave these problems (smoke and noise). ....

Well, my dealer and NH tell me I am the only person in the US with workingexperience with both a 1725 Boomer and a TC29 Boomer, so I'll try to answer yourquestion. The 1725, and the other 25 and 30 models had a *lot* of problems. Smoky, noisy, loss of power, etc. I had so much trouble with the 1725 that NH replacedthe tractor with a TC29. Now *thats* a tractor! It's quieter, more powerful, anddoes not smoke unless it's a cold start, and then only for a minute or so. NH redesignedthe engines for the new TC models, and it's made a total difference. I farm, soI've done a lot of heavy work with my TC, and I'm very happy with it overall. Minehas the 9/3 tranny, loader, and loaded ag tires. It's become a joke around here that it's myliveaboard tractor, because it does everything from just carrying me down to thebarn when it's too icy to walk, to hauling fill, digging ditches, skidding logs, plowing snow, and much in between. I heartily recommend the TC's to anyone lookingfor a good, reliable tractor. I do my own maintenance, greasing, oil, etc., andI haven't had a service call in over 120 hours. ....

Why the turf tires? Are not the R4s better for durability and I understand that they do fine on lawns. Won't the turfs be damaged easily in rough areas or have a lack of gripClayton ....

We took delivery of a TC25D earlier this week. It smokes only on cold start up and is an absolute delight to drive and handle with loader. We had 8" of snow 2 days ago. Had so much fun I even cleared the neighbors' driveways. I don't have any long term reflections yet, but so far It is great! ....
