I am trying to workout which machine to buy, the GC2300 or the Kubota BX2230.
I have seen and driven the BX2230, but have only read about the GC2300 as no dealers have stock! You can get them by order only.
I am leaning towards the GC2300 but am hesitatnt as I havn't seen one.
Is there anyone out there who has seen both and give me more confidence in ordering the GC2300?
I will be purchasing a 4in1 FEL, 60" mid mower deck. Mowing approx 15 acres and other general jobs.
Thanks.

Hi,
I've seen them both and purchased the 2300 with fel, mmm, & a Woods bh. The 2300 is slightly larger than Kubota with a liitle more power. I received a better price on 2300 and in general liked it a little better. I will say I looke at all the brands and my choice came down to Kubota or Massey due to their frame and large 4 wheel hubs on front axle. Good Luck choosing! p.s. fel's are great! ....

Who is your dealer? There are several GC2300's in inventory at other dealers across the country. Great tractor! ....

For 15 acres, you may want to consider a step up in size. I have a JD2210 and mow 2 acres. I wish I had gone a size larger with the JD 4110/4115. Just my opinion. ....

When I bought GC3200 last year I looked at pretty much every tractor in that size range. I went with the GC2300 for several reasons. I liked the dealer (although both were reasonable), the GC2300 doesn't rev as high as the Kubota (thought the engine might last longer), and I was informed the Kubota 3 pt hitch was not a full Class 1. I had this more or less reconfirmed this weekend when I rented a King Kutter 60" tiller, they said it wouldn't fit on the Kubota 2230 because the arms wouldn't open far enough.
I have almost 100 hrs and no complaints so far although I would like to have the tach and cruise control that is on this year's 2300.
Just my $0.02. ....

I sell both Kubota's and Massey's. I personally own a MF GC2300. It is a much beter tractor. As far as avalability goes, I don't know what the problem is, I have about a dozen in inventory. Get an MF... you wont be dissapointed. ....

For 15 acres of mowing you are looking at machines that are targeted at 1 - 4 acre properties, much too small a machine for 15 acres, bigger tires will allow you to keep the fillings in your teeth ;0). The Massey is nice, but very limited dealers here in NJ. I felt the Kubota was built better from just a cursory walk by at the MF dealers lot. MF dealer was a small shabby hardware store, that alone gave me a negative view. Better resale on the Kubota. ....

Previously mentioned that I own a GC2300. Would have to say if I had 15 acres to mow, I would go for something bigger. I would also go for a rear mower. It takes a little getting accustomed to but cleaning and removal for your "other tasks" works out better IMHO. ....

I just read your profile and it says you are in Australia. If I were you besides getting a much bigger rig, asumming your 15 acres of mowing was not a typo and you really meant 1.5 acres, make sure you get a tractor where there are alot of dealers near by. How could you possibly lean towards something you never saw and cannot find a dealer for?????? There few MF dealers here in the US, probably much less in AU. Look at the post counts on Deere, Kubota and New Holland. MF accounts for only about 2% of posts for the big 3 on Tractorpoint ....

Thanks for all the comments. They have been helpful.
Yes I have about 15 acres of flat paddocks in excellent condition to mow, with another 20 acres of bush. This tractor needs to be the right size (and money) to do feed out to all the horses towing a box trailer, mow around the house, mow the paddocks, FEL to do the lifting, make cross country jumps, make trails through bush etc. Have a Massey dealer in the area but they do not have stock and parts are no problem. In Australia Massey have a much better resale in my area anyway. ....

I would have to agree with the earlier posters and say that both of these tractors are way too small for your needs. Look AT LEAST one or two chassis sizes bigger. ....
