I have a kubta 6200 and am looking for a chipper shredder with pto that will work with this tractor (12.5 HP PTO).
Any suggestions??

What kind of stuff will you be chipping? Bearcat has a 5" pto chipper/shredder that weighs 450 lbs and requires 13-40 diesel hp (close enough), but on your machine it probably wouldn't chip anywhere close to 5" stuff - maybe 2.5". ....

2 to 2.5 inches would be fine. I've been using a sears chip/shredder for 10 years now and it's a lot of work. I thought I should make use of my tractor PTO. I don't need to use it very often and would like to spend approx $1000.

Woods makes a couple sizes that might suit your needs. Do you have a dealer close by? They have one that operates off a min. of 15 PTO hp. You may be able to get away with it if you are chipping small brush. ....

I'm pretty sure you won't find a new pto chipper in that price range. When I was shopping around the pto chippers I looked at were around $3k and up with the exception of the chinese Jinma chipper which I found for $1550. The Jinma weighs about 800 lbs and requires a minimum of 18 pto hp though. ....

Just started looking so I don't know about a dealer. I did look up the woods 5000 on internet and saw a price of $2550 which is more than I care to spend.Didn't see that they sold a smaller unit.

I would suggest looking in the used equipment sites on the Internet. I do not think you will find a new one for that price any where. But I do not know you may get lucky. ....

I just found a Mackissic on the internet that handles 3" logs for about $1400. Any one familiar with this one i.e. quality etc??. They don't give a HP spec.

The Mackissic web site lists two pto chippers. The smallest is model TPH-122 which is supposed to chip up to 3.5", requires 12 hp minimum and weighs 240 lbs. The light weight makes me question how substantial a unit it is, but it may be all you need. I don't know anything about them. ....

BTW, the mackissic web site has a dealer locator. Maybe you can find a local dealer, kick the tires and save shipping if you buy. I like Northern Tool but their shipping is often really high. ....

I have a Woods 5000 chipper shredder that I used behind a B6100E (12 pto hp)for a season. Worked fine, just had to go easy on the feed. I have replaced the B6100E with an Kubota L3130 but have not yet hooked up the Woods unit. ....
