I just bought a G6200 with 1000hrs. I need a manual and some help getting the thing set up for the mowing season up here in NY. I will also be using it for snowplowing next fall. Can anyone help? I have never owned anything but a Cub before this.

They are a good tractor and your local dealer should be glad to help you with the owners manual and the questions you may have on your tractor. ....

Hi Jim and everyone else!
New here - great forum!
Hope you are happy with your new G6200 Jim!
I have an '88 Kubota G6200H with only 525 hrs on it.
Nice shape, excellent mechanically.
My Dad was the original owner,
always garaged and maintained.
I hate to part with it, but I really need a
tractor that can mulch. After hounding my local dealer
for 3 days, they finally told me that Kubota never made a mulching plug or blades for it, and sadly I can't find them on the net (aftermarket) either.
Anyway -
if anyone knows where I can find the parts
to convert it to a mulcher without having to buy a new deck, that would be great! Otherwise, I guess I will have to get rid of it and buy a different tractor.
In that case, how can I find out what my tractor is worth?
I can't seem to find any links to (free) value guides at all.
A local dealer told me Retail was $1k, and trade was around $700., but I saw the book he was looking at - it didn't have retail listed at all, it was a trade-in value range only. (Plus, I was in the car business for years - I know that having only 525 hours should clearly add to the value.)
A guy I know wants to trade me his Snapper rear engine rider (2 years old, 11 HP, 28" deck) plus $750. for mine, but after being used to a real tractor,
(no offense Snapper fans ;-)
I can't imagine being happy with that...
and going to a 28" deck -
that would be a LOT more time to cut the same yards.
Plus, his Snapper is only $999. locally, brand new.
Any thoughts, links, etc...?
Thanks!
Dave

Sorry - didn't realize msg would be shortened for some.
Bottom line: How can I find the Value?
Can I get mulching blades and/or plug?

Steve in the days of the 6200 there wasn't as much need or desire to mulch. They did have grass catchers for those tractors but that was about it. They are good mowers and good for thousands of hours operation and they are good mowers even by todays standards. You might if you wish to take the time to remove your blades be able to get gator blades for the deck which would give you some help in making the grass clippings finer. ....

Jim sorry for the delay in geting back but there are several dealers in the Rochester area for you to choose from. Several have years of experience with the Kubota product line and I'm sure that they could help you and give you the assistance that you need. ....

Art,
It was the hydro. A local dealer fixed it for me, but it was big $$$, $800 for the pump alone. Works like a gem now.

EEK - $800.
How do I make sure to avoid that?
Regular oil changes?
Jim, if you don't mind me asking,
what did you pay for your tractor?
Anyone know where I can find values online?
Where is a good place to buy Gator Mulching blades?
The places I have tried don't list the G6200.
Does Gator have a website?
Thanks!
Dave

Right you are. Maintenance is the key. Keep changing that filter and hydro fluid per the manual. If you could see the inside of my old housing you would realize just how important that is. Oh and don;t forget to clean the screen when you drain the fluid. BTW, the hydro was $800 but the labor was another $600. ....

jkporter, I am sure Art can get you whatever you need. Another source of parts and manuals for older Kubota's is Tractor Smart. Ask for Ronnie Bowman. He was very helpful to me when I had my L245. Those are fantastic little diesel tractors. I am sure you will be very satisfied with it. ....
