To be fair, you really need to compare the 3130 to the 4310. That said, you can't go wrong with either. When I sat on them I felt more comfortable on the JD. That's just a subjective opinion on my part. For me it would come down to price, financing and dealer. I would shop around more to see what's out there. I think the first thing you need to decide is if the tractor fits your requirements. Both are overkill for mowing five acres and too small for bush hogging twenty. JMHO

I'd go Kubota, all the J.D. dealers I've met are arrogant
pricks. If that's there dealers then the tractors must be crap.
That's just my opinion though. ....

Pretty sad way to judge a product, in my opinion. I have found just the opposite in my area. I still think both are excellent machines. I could not get the time of day from the Kubota dealer ....

I suggest go ride them both! Then pick the one that feels best in the seat. Although I agree they are both too much for 5 acres. I chose the 3130 'cause that is where I got the best feel and the best deal. BTW, you might use the internet to look at prices - gave an edge when negotiating. ....

After a lot of research I found both tractors to be a good product and very similar in price. I just prefer the set up of the JD. I dont judge the machine by the dealer but I did think a good and reliable dealer was key in my purchase. Could not find a decent Kubota dealer here but based on a lot of positive feed back I am sure that is just a local issue. Plenty of lousy dealers for any brand. i personally found it tougher to find a good dealer than a good tractor. ....

I took delivery on my JD 4210 last Thursday and played with it a couple of hours. It's perfect for what I need to use it for. Box blade to smooth the rocky field of weeds and front loader to scoop gravel and spread on the side of the property. I also used the loader to move a couple of non op trucks. I couldn't these tasked as well with my JD 750. ....

I agree with Pacesetter, the more accurate comparison would be against the JD 4310. Both look like good tractors. I can tell you that I have had very good experience with my 4410 but the bottom line is that you need to test drive and operate both and go with the one you like best. I think you would be happy with both. Resale value may be a bit less with the Kubota but that is a bit subjective. Good luck! ....
