Ok I don't want to start a war but I have priced and compared the BX 2200 and the new JD 2210 both with a 60 inch mower and loader. Both are priced about the same. Any comments on which would be the best investment both for durability and resale?

I'm not real familiar with the JD, but I just went through the whole BX Kubota issue. I was looking for a compact and seriously looked at the Kubota BX, and it is certainly a fine tractor. Further research, however, showed me that I could by a used B series tractor in excellent condition for less money than a new comparable BX. The BX series kubota is a "sub-compact". The B series, however, is a true compact capable of much more than a comparable BX. The B series has a larger frame, is more rugged, weighs more and is generally overall more robust. A B series with a loader/tiller will run rings around a BX with the same, assuming of cousre the HP is about the same. I ended up with a 1990 B6200 for about 1/2 the cost of a new comparable BX. Don't sell yourself short by buying too little tractor. As far as resale, NOTHING holds value better than a KUBOTA. Besides, the JD is probably made in Japan anyway. ....

I have a BX and love it. BUT if both tractors are the SAME price, I think I would go with the JD. Why?? Bigger deck, wow 2 inches, YES size does matter, the 3 pt set up looks like it would be easier to work with, joy stick location, bigger bucket on the FEL. I would also seriously look at the Kioti CK 20. BUT you also have to consider the dealer. If the orange dealer was better, service, how he treated, you, etc that would tip the scales to one or another.
Have fun looking is half the fun!

It would be hard to imagine two competing tractors that are more closely matched than a Kubota 2200 and a JD2210.
Just get the one that "sits" the best for what you are going to use it for, especially if you can confirm that the 2210 is assembled in Japan.
The Deere tractors that are total Yanmar products are very high quality. ....

I don't think my comment is any different than stated above, but as a bit of background, I have owned a BX2200 with 60" mower deck, so I can give my opinion of the 2210 plus similar implements vs. BX from that standpoint. My 2210 is equipped with the 210 loader, 54” front blade and 62” mower deck. In addition, I have the following rear 3 point attachments, 50” rotary tiller, 6’ landscaping rake, boom pole (to lift items directly up that are 5’ feet away for the unit), and rear grader blade. Having owned them both, I see positive features on both. IMO, the 2210 is more refined in terms of forward/reverse pedals, levers, joy stick, implement switch, better safety features, but this is not why I picked the 2210 over the BX. One of the biggest features that pushed me towards the 2210 vs. the BX was the width you can spread the 3-point draw bars plus the accessibility around the rear PTO shaft. The 2210 draw bars do open wider and the area is more accessible. I have never used a loader on a BX, so I can’t comment on use. However, I do know that my 2210 handles a loader very well and more than satisfies my expectations in terms of speed (up/down/dump), removal, and installation. The same can be said about the front blade. In terms of overall function, I haven’t notice any difference in tractor performance in terms of pulling/handling of my rear 3 point attachments with the exception of speed to lift (both machines were adjusted to similar setting for 3 point and I feel the 2210 is quicker) and connection ability of 3 point. The BX did mow well and I have yet to try that feature out on my 2210. Overall, the units well matched against one another. ....

I am also having a difficult time deciding between the two tractors. I have received quotes of $12,800 for the JD 2210 with loader, 54" mower, and box blade. I received a quote of $12,525 for the Kubota BX-2200 with the same implements. Is that a good deal on either or both? ....

It's my understanding that the 3-point on a JD operates in either "up" or "down" mode. No in-between. ....

Consider whether you'll be cutting on flat ground or on a slope. As a subcompact, the BX has a wider wheelbase and sits lower than most comparable models. The lower center of gravity makes it handle inclined turns that would roll other tractors. ....

My 2 cents worth . . .
I visited both dealers, and the JD 2210 cost $2,000 more. There was none in the lot for me to see, and all I got was a little pocket size fold-out product card, not a brochure.
I got to see the BX2200, demonstrated to me how the loader and mower comes off easily. I am going with the BX2200. ....

I've been to 8 dealers. I looked at Kioti ck20, JD2210 and BX1500,1800,2200. Can't find any JD for less than $13000 so far with 54mmm,fel.
Kubota dealer will sell me a bx1800 for 11,300 with fel, 54mmm, 5'rake, loaded tires, back work light. Bx2200 for 12,100. I'd like to trade in my JD LX277 with 30 hrs but no one wants to take it. I like the JD but the Kubota price is good and the dealer is the nicest and closest to home.
Looks like I should just go with the Kubota ? and sell my JD myself.
Any ideas ?

GUYS,,I admit im PRO New Holland,,why not shop there also?AND a JD will bring more on re-sale than a Kubota,,BUT you pay green to own green!!!!!between the 2 I like the Kubota a lot more ....
