I am looking for some information on a JD 755. I have a line on a JD 755, 6 yr old, 450+ hrs., with Back hoe and Loader, for around 14K. I also have ordered a 4100 with a loader and mid deck. I would like to compare the two but, I can't find any specs on the 755.

What specifically are you looking for? The 755 is 20hp hydro w/ 15 hp at the pto. 4WD is an optional must have if you intend to do any real loader work. Price doesn't sound bad - it's a good machine. I have one that I just put a used backhoe on and it is great: you can't put a backhoe on the 4100. I also have the 60" midmount which can't be on at the same time as the hoe - minor annoyance but I am not switching them all the time. ....

I bought a '96 755 with 4wd, loader, ballast box, turf tires, 3 point hitch and about 400 hours for 12,400.00 a couple of months ago. Garage kept, it's in beautiful condition. The back hoe you'd be getting is easily worth a couple thousand dollars.. The price you quoted sounds fair to me. Geographic location can make the price fluctuate a bit.I'm in the Chicago area, and bought the tractor around Indianapolis. The 755, I believe, is a little lighter tractor. Tractor alone weighs in at about 1750 lb. with 4wd. I agree with the other post, 4wd for loader work is a must! You will not be able to do much work with a 2wd, just mowing. If you watch the posts on this board there are a lot of complaints about the 4100's. Not that JD is putting out an inferior product, but this is the first year for that model and it seems to have some kinks they need to work out. I looked at the 4100 and decided to buy "slightly used" to get a more proven product. The 755's have been around for quite a while and are proven machines. You can tell where my bias lies. Nothing against the 4100. But for my money, if I was buying a 4100, I'd rather they had been out for several years, and worked out some of the problems I'm hearing though this board.I know the other post gave you some specs, wasnt sure quite what you were looking for. If you want more info.....e-mail meGood luck....Ray ....

Brian, all 755's are 20hp. The 855 is 24hp and the 955 is 33hp. I'm not sure where final assembly was, but all of the 55 series tractors have Yanmar diesel engines - which are very good engines. I had the 855 MFWD w/70a loader and it was a great machine. I have the specs you need at home. If no one else posts the info, I will post tonight. ....

Dana & Brian,I copied straight out of the sales brochure from 1995. Maybe newer models have better hydraulics??? If this is the case, I would be interested in 3ph and loader #'s for a '97 955.Steve ....
