I think they should knock another 15-20% off that price. Without checking, it sounds like almost MSRP pricing less 5% or so on a demo machine that is being closed out. Often guys have bought at MSRP less 20% on current models. I have no idea what your trade is worth but maybe you can look it up on machinerylink dot com. ....

It looks to me like the dealer is playing the numbers game with you. $8,000 for the L245DT TLB is HIGH. Corrspondingly, he is selling the 4410 high as well. You need to get down to real numbers and find out what your L245 is really worth or better yet, sell it outright yourself and then pay cash or work you best deal on the 4410. The price for the 4410 is outrageous for an ePower Reverser. It might be more in line if it was an eHydro model but even then I think that price is too high with the eHydro on a used machine in my opinion.

I my opinion a 1982 L245DT with FEL & hoe might be worth somewhere is the $5,500 to $6,500 range if in good condition.

The 4410 is worth around $15,500

430 FEL w/HD bucket is worth around $3,200 to $3,400

The 47 hoe around $6,800

$25,700 for the 4410 package minus the $6,500
gets you to $19,200 out the door. Don't count on getting $6,500 for trade in on the L245. I traded my L245 in on my 4410 almost 3 years ago with a buddy selling me the machine. He gave me $4,500 for my L245 equipped with an L1200 FEL and L590 RFM which was not exactly a peach either and I thought he was giving me a gift.

Just wanted to give you some ideas and figures to work with and consider. I think you can do MUCH better than the deal you are currently being offered.
cook these numbers and ....

Thanks for your input. I figure the dealer is trying to show a high trade in number thus the high retail on the 4410.
He also quoted a price of $15435.00 with trade (-$8000.00)for a new 790 with 300 loader and #7 hoe. What do you think of the 790 compared with the 4410?

To be honest with you; if your L245DT is in pretty good shape, I don't see that much difference between it and the 790. The 790 is 27 hp. and the L245 I believe is 24? Both are gear shift basic design tractors. Both are 4WD. For all the money in interest and payments the 790 would cost you extra; I think I would keep the L245 and fix whatever may be wrong and be MUCH more money ahead. The L245 is a little cramped for operator space but so is the 790.

The 790 is not in the same class with the 4410. It is 35 hp. and has a lot more bells and whistles. It also has MUCH MUCH more operator station space than the 790. If you go the 4410 route; I would suggest getting the eHydro instead of the ePower Reverser.

Don't get me wrong; the 790 is a real fine & bullet proof machine but I think you have almost as much tractor with the L245 unless you step up to the 4410.

Just my opinion. Hope this helps you with your decision. Good luck! ....

There is a 4410 with 430 loader and hoe currently on ebay that you may want to consider if the reserve isn't too high. Often if they don't reach reserve and the seller is anxious, they will contact you if you've placed a bid. ....

I've also been shopping around and thinking of getting a new tractor. Think I'm leaning toward the new 20 series. The 3520 with 37HP replaces the 4410 with 35 HP. The 3520 also is turbocharged. The 300CX loader is a little stronger than the 430. ....

The extra 2 hp would be good, but I'm not a big fan of turbos. I've had a couple of turbos rebuilt and it is not cheap. More to go wrong and more money. When given the choice I would choose a naturally aspirated engine over a turbo anyday if the hp ratings and torque curves were similar. ....

In John Deere's new lineup the 3320 is 100 cubic inches with 32.5 gross HP and 25 HP at PTO with hydro. The 3520 has a 91.5 cubic inch motor with 37 gross HP with 30HP at PTO with hydro. This and above is all turbo. All 4120 through 4720 from 43 HP to 58 HP 4 cylinder models have turbo. All the new 20 series are rated to run #1 or #2 diesel.

The 4310 and 4410 had 91.3 cubic inches and were rated at 32 HP and 35 HP respectively with PTO HP with hydros at 25 and 28.

As was mentioned earlier, fuel efficiency and clean air are reasons for the turbos. Ken, I kinda agree with you about service, etc. I'm concerned about this and all the electronics and how these new units will run 20 years from now. My friend has a 9N and said it started right up last week, the first time he tried it since last fall. Simple seems more bulletproof. ....

It would appear that the 3320 has the old 4410 yanmar engine and the remaining machines in this line have an updated 4310 turbo charged engine. ....

All of these 3 cylinder units have Yanmars. The 4310 and 4410 had 91.3 cu. in engines. The 3320 is 100 cubic inche. The 3520 and 3720 have 91.5 cubic inch motors. They have slightly tweeked everything changing only .2 cubic inches on some. The old and new motors were all noted as 1.5 liters The 3320 is the biggest change and noted as 1.6 liters. So I'm thinking either it is a new motor or change in stroke or piston/head height. ....

No, the 4410 had the 3TNE88 which is 100.1 or 100.2/101 cubic inch depending upon where you look. The 3320 is the 3TNV88 which is the updated version for emissions which is 100.2 cubic inch. ....

Randy:
I just looked on the web link you posted. It does show the 4410 as having 100 cubic inch. My information came from printed literature. If that is correct, they changed the rating from 35 gross HP on the 4410 to 32.5 gross HP on the 3320. ....

Below are Deere's specs for the 4410. They show the 4410 with the 3TNE88 engine at 101 cubic inch. They also show the 3320 with the 3TNV88 engine but at 100.2 cubic inch. I suspect that the 3TNE88 and 3TNV88 are the same engine bore and stroke wise and perhaps with some emissions changes and updates. ....

I have a '03 4410 and absolutely think it is great. Remember, the dealers need to move the 4000 series to make room for the new ones. IMO, they need to drop their price quite a bit before I would take it. (I bought mine used with 87 hours through a dealer with 72" mmm for $15,200.) My preference is the 4410 with the 300cx loader. I am always a little leery of new models and 4410 has been proven time and time again...300cx loader is a heavier unit and looks great as well. All in all, the 4410 is an all around great, reliable machine. ....

Another difference that I found between the 4410 and 3320 is the 4410 has a spur gear in the final drive while the 3320 has a helical final drive gear. I think the helical gear may be a little stronger. I agree the 300CX looks like a stronger loader but doesn't quite have the offset to reach inside your trailer when dumping your load. It is only a couple of inches shorter so it is not a big deal. I like turf tires and the turfs in front of the 3320 and 4410 are too small. They have 27 x 8.5 x 15 on the front. The 4510 thru 4710 and 4120 thru 4720 have 27 x 10.5 x15 turfs. I'm trying to find out if the rims are interchangable with comparible off-sets, etc. I have two John Deere dealers that want my business. They both say they will not be undersold. When I do my shopping and find out exactly what I want, it will be interesting! ....

I just ordered a new 300cx loader with a HD bucket (in place of the standard bucket)for $3500 if I install it...add $100 if I would choose to have them install it. The initial price given for a 430 loader in this thread is too high...especially since the retail price is about $50 cheaper than the 300cx and it is an old model that they want to clear out. ....
