Hi Sean,

I never did get around to buying a chainsaw holster yet. Been busier than a 3 legged cat in a sand box planting trees for a CRP project.

The Foreman is GREAT. I did my own first valve adjustment and have done all of the services on it so far. It is has been a great and fuel efficient machine so far and I use the heck out of it. Both the Foreman and the Recon. I used the Recon during the tree planting and it has also been a great machine as well.

Sorry to hear about the heart surgery. Hope all turned out well and you are on the mend and doing well.

Thats what I understand. The warrantee is supposed to be good for 2 years. But Kubota service rep is saying that I have a low-end tractor and they will not cover replacing a valve that allows a post hole digger to be raised without severe jerking. The Low-end tractor was supposed to work that way by intent or design.

My '85 blew out a rim due to rust and I'm finding out most all the 12x28 rims are 6-loop vice original 8-loop (lug).<br>

- Where can I buy one (new or used) besides the dealer for $870?<br>

- Does anyone know if I can put a new center section on to convert it to 6-loop?<br>

Many of the new machines that I see today are running the bolt on type. Do you have enough room on the hub to drill it?

Thanks Art. Will pull all safety switches and clean and reconnect. Will redo all PTO levers and clean and refasten all connections around solenoid and report back.

Try doing a search at Kubota.com. They show it as a Gray Market tractor not built for the US market. Decals are not in english, some safety features are not there and parts may be an issue. You will find some who have had success with Gray Market tractors and others will tell you to avoid them. kt

I tried a flail mower on my small Kubota about same size and liked it very much. Liked the offset to it. Only problem I found was turning with it was not as easy as the rotary mower due to roller on rear. Other than that I really like it more than the rotary cutter and agree with Murf they are easier on weight and HP requirements. As to the weight limit, much of the rotary cutter's weight is on the trail wheel.

EW, not sure I understand your backing up on the tree but if you are...be sure something limits the up motion of your cutter as you can jam the PTO shaft damaging your tractor (experience). kt

I think you need to double check that the brake lights come on when you set the parking brake. Or don't you set the brake when you get off the tractor? Also - there could be a short in the glow plug circuit. With the key in the ON position - but the tractor not started - how many amps are indicated on the ammeter?

Like I said, the Jinma keyswitch is crap. The wafers disintegrate internally, so - when they start to go - you're never quite sure what gets connected to what

FYI Wound up splitting tractor and replacing overruning clutch. Mating surfaces rounded over. You can see the clutch through the oil fill hole. Quite a job to slpit with loader and mower brackets. 2 days. Working like new again. Wil have to keep an eye on it. 1200 hrs and worn out. Not happy about that.

Unless someone here has also been shopping for the same size, same model as you it is kind of hard to give you an honest answer. I will say that you are probably in the regon of the most popular machines sold today. My only advise would be that all are good machines, some have features that may outstanding above the other two for you. I'll launch into my sermon on dealers again, Regardless of the color you buy, find a dealer you are comfortable with, check out their service department, they all will need it sooner or later. The dealer you are most comfortable with may not have the rock bottom price we all like to find, but a bargan price is soon forgotten whe a service issue pops up and the dealer is two states away. Enjoy which ever color you buy. Frank.

What is a resonable price for this tractor with Loader. It has 1700 hours. Do people think this a good tractor for use around home? I hear mixed reviews about this size tractor with a loader and how well they work.
