Looks like I have to replace the round cover plate where the shaft goes into and the rubber collar.
Now How does that cover plate come off????
Im intalling new threads in the bolt holes with the
Time-Sert system which works great. ....

Leave the plate installed. Engage the differential lock and fix it so it remains engaged. You may be able to pull the stub using a pair of picks. If not then you might try tack welding a rod to it and pulling it that way. Short of something along those lines you may have to remove the trans cover plate and push it out.

The rubber collar you refer to is a oil seal. If you don't order it from a supplier you can pry it out and take it to NAPA along with the measurement of the axle diameter and they can match you up with one. ....

I have to take the cover plate off and replace it because it is worn out on the top of the hole. Its not perfect round anymore in the hole, its out of round.
I can get the part from the belarus store on ebay and the rubber collar and the price and shipping are not bad.
So I just need to get the cover plate off to put a new one
on when I get it. Is it just stuck and I need to hit
it from the side of it to loosen it???

I have experience with your brand of tractor but my guess is the cover plate is either stuck due to sealant or rust or with the wear of it there is groove cut in it the shaft is worn into. Have you tried using smile screw driver or such to run around the shaft to check for clearance? ....

Did you order a new plate? If so take a look at it to see why it may be hard to remove the old one. I had wanted to remove that plate from one of mine and it would not budge and felt it better to leave well enough alone. The parts illustration does not show it well, by looking at that it would seem to be just a flat plate. Take a photo of the new one if you get one.

If you did not already order a new plate then I would still advise to leave it in place. Just replace the seal and if there is a gap towards towards the top or anywhere around the seal them personally I would seal it with JB weld or silicone and leave it. There is no force or oil pressure on the seal, only there to keep the oil in the trans.

Give us some photos if you do take the plate off. ....

I got the cover collar off with a flat chisel and got
it started to pop off. It had a gasket under it that was stuck good but have it off and will have a new one with the oil seal also coming.
I should have it all going for the the growing season after this heat and all the rain has been coming down lately.
Will be nice ot have it working again so I can use my tiller. ....

Hi.
Get yourself a copper head hammer and give the cover a sharp whack on the SIDE you will find it is only held on by rust, make sure you clean the new part before you fit it dont forget to fit the new gasket and as the op said you can buy a seal from nappa.
Have a great Easter weekend.
Hutch. ....
