Dear friends,
My neighbor is in the market for a new toothbar. He's asked me for some help.
I'm wondering if anyone here has a list of manufacturers, or companies they've dealt with in the past.
Some time back I saw a message on this site which listed a toothbar manufacturing company.......but danged if I can find that message now.
Any help from my friends here would be much appreciated.

I finally found the topic I mentioned earlier. It is located under the "loader" heading.
It may have been best to delete this thread, but I thought somebody else may be looking for a tooth bar as well, and this might be helpful.
Markam Welding makes tooth bars to fit any bucket with a 4" cutting edge.
Measure the inside width of the bucket, at a point 8 inches back from the leading edge of the cutting edge. Also make sure the cutting edge is in good condition, and is not bent.

I've been looking for a smooth, one-piece tooth bar--no weldments. I have seen them on only a few pieces of equipment like road graders. Basically it resembles a flat, cutting edge complete with a chisel-sharp leading edge. But the difference is there are "fingers" or cutouts evenly spaced along it--probably about 1-1/2" wide as are the spaces. The fingers appear to be flame- or laser-cut. Seems like an ideal thing to use as a rake or to crush dirt clods when backblading. If a guy wanted, he could even cut off some of the teeth he doesn't need if he were looking for an agressive tooth bar. ....

Many years ago, while in Georgia, I worked with a fella who replaced sewer lines in the Augusta area. (Extremely nice homes!) He was hired over some of the larger contractors, because he didn't bring any equipment into the yard for the work. He dug up and replaced sewer lines by hand......or I should say....I dug them up, and he replaced the pipes. hehehe.
Anyway, when backfilling, we used a HEAVY steel grate, with about 1" squares. We'd drag this over the ditch with a tractor parked in the street, using a lightweight cable and a winch. The steel grate did a perfect job of breaking up the clumps and finishing off the lawn for reseeding.
I always wondered if a piece of steel grate swinging from the bottom of a tractor bucket wouldn't work just as well..........especially when used with a skid-steer tractor. It would sure beat carrying the danged thing around.
You might want to experiment with this idea a bit.

Joel, for me clumps aren't an issue; I have a 3pt, 6' wide, PTO driven Harley rake (aka pulverizer, preparator, power box rake). The clay we have here can be as hard as concrete where a bobcat can barely scratch the surface. This machine will turn it into powder if I go over it a few times. ....

Jeff, it's real common stuff, go to your local roads department and ask them who they buy their replacement wear parts, there will be a local company for sure.
If I understand what you are saying you should be asking for "serrated" grader wear plates. These are just like you described, much like the replacement cutting edges on a snow plow, except they are about 8" or 9" wide and 1" or so thick and come in a variety of lengths.

No not Rezloh teeth, bolt on aftermarket ones about $5-10 each. A used bucket is about $300-400.
The last time I bought a cutting edge it cost $120 for a new Ford part 8' long. As I recall a smaller Rezloh tooth bar was three times that---something like $375. And even that was too much for just what it was.
I'm pretty sure the bolt spacing are different between makes and perhaps models, and new holes would have to be torched into the old cutting edge so finding someone with a 'bota who needs one may be hard. Could be wrong though.
Gotta think shipping would be close to $100-150 maybe more if it goes truck freight. ....

Ebay has two listed for $500 and $600. The guy has to be making $200-300 on each IMHO. Ask your dealer what he would give on trade-in for it, then double the price and that is roughly what he would want to resell it for. Take the difference between the two prices and that is likely what you could get private selling. If he offers you say, $200 and you double it to get $400 selling price and that leaves you $300 private sell you are gonna be pissed lol. BUT I doubt he'll even make any offer because if you do the math based on YOUR purchase price there's a bunch of money still not accounted for. But we know where that went. It's like when my customers wanted a job done and I broke it down pricewise---I'll do this or that included, or I gave them a discount---case in point: a guy wanted the end of his driveway built up with broken concrete I was supplying stacked to support it over a deep ditch. As part of the deal he wanted gravel scraped up from his driveway and spread---3-4 yds. Okay $100 more. (I already had it my mind that I gave him a big discount and another 100 makes the deal fairer for me) Done deal. So I thought. I get ready to spread the gravel and he says he'll do it himself. I said great now I don't have to do it--but the price isn't changing. Boy was he pissed but a deal is a deal. ....
