Does any know the sequence for the PTO handle on a 2843. My tractor does not list any and seems to have three positions as follows: All the way up is FASTEST Speed, next down is NEUTRAl, next down is SLOWEST speed, next down is NEUTRAL, next down is MEDIUM speed. I am trying to match up the correct position for the 2X 540 RPM on the speedometer.
Thank you
A Arcaya

Don't know the tractor. If I were guessing I'd say the slowest speed is likely 540 rpm and the other choices are likely 750 and 1000 rpm.

If your implements take 540 rpm inputs I'd say use the lowest speed pto at something less than the max position on the hand throttle and see how they work. A mower won't cut very well if it's going too slow and you'll probably know if it's going too fast.

I guess the problem is that the tractor doesn't have a tach. Engine speed isn't real critical for most pto as long as you're in a 540 position for operations and most PTO rpm's are usually a few hundred revs below the max no load rpm that you get from the full throttle position when the tractor isn't in neutral. If you know somebody who has a tractor with a tach you could listen to the engine at the max no load point and then at the pto rpm to get a sense of how much to back off the hand throttle. ....
