I just bouhgt a shibaura 1800sd 2 cylinder and don't know much about. Was wondering what kind of rpms to keep it at so not to over rev or lug it.

They're designed and intended to run at or near full throttle for the efficient pursuit of work. You control ground speed by choosing which transmission range and gear works best for the job at hand. On tachometer-equipped units, there's usually a mark that indicates where to set the throttle. This ensure the engine can develop the correct RPMs required by a PTO-powered implement.

Short version; working - wide open, or close to. Not working - anywhere you want.
