HERE I AM AGAIN. I NEED YOUR HELP. THE TRACTOR I BOUGHT RECENTLY WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A MITSUBISHI. THE STICKERS SAY MT 6301. NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO IDENTIFY. COULD IT BE A MODEL 630. IT DOES LOOK LIKE IT COULD HAVE RED UNDER THE HOOD. IT ALSO HAS A SHIBAURA KEY THAT STARTS IT. IT HAS A MITSUBISHI ALTERNATOR. THE FRONT END LOOKS LIKE SOME FORDS I HAVE SEEN. THE SERIAL # STARTS WITH SE 6300. OTHER # ADVERTISED ON INTERNET WAS SE30010077. RT. SIDE HAS # K-1 91015. THANKS AGAIN. JOEL

ECL1JXG,

I wouldn't worry too much about the ignition key, or the make and model of the thing. It is pretty common for someone to replace an ignition switch with anything that will work.

As for the other issues, I'm not sure where to begin when attempting to help you identify the exact make and model of the tractor you have. It's possible that the alternator was replaced. That probably won't help you much. The numbers that are the most important will likely be located somewhere on the frame of the tractor.

The serial number is probably the most important identification info you have.

Joel ....

The most important information for identifying it is the engine model or look on the trans housing left side near the top for a model # serial # stamped in the housing near where your left leg would be when sitting on the tractor. ....
