I have a D2650FD. Are all the hydralic fluids created equal or is there some better than others when it comes to serviceing my transmission ?

I would use what the manufacturer recomends. Hydraulic fluids are designed for different operating temps & uses. Also some tractors would void the warrenty if not using what is recomended. ....

After many discussions with mechanics and dealers I found two things crop up on the subject of tractor hydraulic fluids.

First, it seems that the better fluids will hold more water in suspension than the cheaper fluids.

Second is the question of how will it affect the wet brakes. I am told that Case premium fluid will suspend more water than Kubota UDT and the Kubota brakes don't chatter with it so it is ok to use in place of UDT.

The same Case fluid causes brake chattering in Deere products and conversely that Deere fluids don't get along with Case brakes.

All that to say this: try to find a fluid that will hold at least 1 percent of its volume in water and is compatible with your wet brakes(assuming you have wet brakes). ....
