Just got a Mitsu D2350 with K4C, 1.200 L engine. Appears to have a blown seal on the pump causing hyda fluid to pump into the engine. Previous owner repaired a leak in the presure hydralic line by cutting and putting in a pressure coupling. My questions are: can I replace the seal on the hydralic pump or do I need to replace the pump? Is the repair to the high pressure hydralic line OK or did it play a part in the pump seal failure? Thanks in advance for any info.

Wayne2342,

I don't believe the repair to the hydraulic line would have caused a seal to fail.

Seal failure is usually caused by using the improper fluid in the system. Seals are designed for use with only certain types of hydraulic fluids. If improper fluids are used, seals can swell, soften, and eventually fail.

(Please refer to the chart in the link I posted below.)

I don't know how difficult it would be to find the seal you need for your pump. It's possible that the seal is readily available. The next question -- can it be replaced without disassembling the pump? If so, I see no reason why you wouldn't be able to handle the project.

Wayne2342,

After a little checking around, I found a site on the net that might be able to provide you with some technical and parts support.

It appears that your tractor is a Gray Market machine, which means that you'll have to obtain your parts from a company that deals in Gray Market imported parts. (No dealer network in the U.S.)

Please click on the link below.

Hope that helps.
