Anyone have a voltage regulator for the Hinomoto E222 tractor. The number on it is RS1108? Light numbers say 9F2. By Kokusan Denki Japan.

There are several people who post here who specialize in parts for Japanese tractors and you'll likely hear something.
If it gets to be a problem locating one, there's a good chance that the old one could be rebuilt or one from a similar system adapted. I guess you're sure the regulator is the problem. ....

Thanks Tom for the input. One from any tractor including US. will do. It does have to have 6 leads out in order to fit electrically. Voltage regulator is a semiconductor type molded into a metal finned heat sink housing, so repair does not appear to be an option. ....

Too bad about the heat sink: Back in my teching days I've soldered new semi-conductors into heat sinks but they were intended to be replaceable. Auto electric shops can sometimes rebuild alternator bridge rectifiers. This heat sink probably is different, but I sort of wonder how the manufacturer got them in the sink in the first place. Finding one for the tractor still likely would be easier even if repair might be possible. ....

Tom thanks again! I cut off the cardboard backing to look inside the heat sink housing and found that the components were not epoxyed into the cavity, but siliconed in. The bad component is a diode, probably 10 or 15 amps and two leads are connected to one end and one to the other. So nothing magical. Solder leads to a new diode, chek it out in action and seal it back into the cavity with silicone. Cheap repair. ....

Edward, I also have an E222.
Am interested in discussing parts sources, manuals.
please email me at

Too bad there are robots, spiders, whatever, running around on the web so I spell out punctuation
and include extraneous NOSPAM to avoid unintended email. ....

frazzled: I do not have a parts or manual source for the E222. For the voltage regulator problem I replaced it with a full bridge rectifier from Radio Shack. Cost was like $1.99 as I remember. If you are having voltage regulator problem will be glad to send you a letter with drawing showing what I did. ....
