I bought a brand new Hinomoto 230D back in the eighties and it was a great tractor....Recently,I bought an E180D (Hinomoto),minus the cylinder head, for $650.I thought that was a pretty good deal...That is,I "THOUGHT" it was... Until I started trying to find parts for it.So far,I have been quoted as much as $750($100 more than I paid for the tractor,and all the impliments) for a used head.I have been quoted $264 for BOTH pistons and $208 for the rings for those pistons.I have been quoted over $200 for a head gasket.....Know what I'm getting at?....Best advice I can offer you is to forget it....Find yourself a good John deer,or a Massey,or even a Ford.At least it won't cost you the price of a new tractor to buy parts for it.....

One more thing....Don't...I repeat..DON'T try to buy parts on the internet.You'll get raped every time you do.

It doesn't sound like a good situation. Too bad there are so many problems. I think in terms of Canadian prices, but actually, the prices quoted don't sound too far off big three (or four) dealer parts. I guess you don't notice the price of parts so much after paying the big sticker prices. I guess the difference is that the parts are available and without the risk of Internet dealings. I hope other people have had better luck with Internet purchases. Looks like manufacturers may be cutting back parts support for older tractors, and many owners may have to resort to the net. ....

Well let me wade into this one and say that the answer is both good and bad. The tractors are fairly well built and sturdy. I own an E2304 or the Massey equivalent 1030. Parts are available for this tractor, but that is not true for all Hinomotos or all grey market tractors as far as that goes. Yanmars seem to have the best parts availability and when it comes to the others, Iseki, Mitsubishi, Hinomoto, Kubota and others it pays to know a little about what you are buying and what if any tractors they cross to delivered here in the States or Canada for you. Hope this helped and good luck.

Don't get me wrong,as there are some good honest people trying their luck on the internet and there are some hard working,honest,people running some of the parts places.The cheapest price that I got for a complete head for my Hinomoto was $750 for a complete head.Granted,the people here in Houston had to go to the trouble of running a head down and they are entitled to a profit on their investement.The cheapest price I have gotten,on the internet,was $700+ for a bare head(no valves,no injectors,no nuttin).Doesn't sound too much to me like I'm going to buy any parts on the net.....You know,selling on the net is a pretty good deal for the seller,and that's provided that they sell something.It's not necesarrily a good deal for the buyer as he's stuck with a credit card bill whether the parts are right or not. ....

I don't think high prices have anything to do with the internet. New heads are expensive. New Yanmar heads are $1500 -$2000 .Iseki, Satoh/Mitsubishi, & Hinomoto parts generally are pretty pricey. For what you payed for the tractor, you basically payed for a parts tractor plus implements. ....

Maybe you're right Leonard;

But.....If I can buy an 8N,running, for $1600,or fix this Hinomoto for that same amount,my labor not included,which would you suggest a person do? I have no quarrel with someone making a profit but the highest prices I have gotten, so far,has been on the internet.It may be to my advantage to just buy a new tractor.At least I shouldn't have to spend any money fixing it each month.

I know the 8N was just a hypothetical example. I did hear awhile back that NH was dropping parts support for pre-62 or 63 Fords. As somebody noted, there is a sizable market for these parts, and most probably will continue to be available from after-market suppliers. However, identifying suppliers would become an owner's responsibility, although many dealers would likely try to support their customers. If there is any seriousness about getting an old Ford, it might be good to check out parts availability. There's a possibility that older Ford owners and gray market compact owners may now have common problems. ....

I have just purchased a Hinomoto E324 tractor and would like to find a source for parts as wll as a manual. I received with the purchase a parts manual, but it is in Japanese.
I also have some confusion since the Label on the hood says it is a E324, but on the trans there is a plate that shows a number E304. Is there any one who has knowedge of the serial number system or model number identification system that can help.

It would be appreciated.
