I purchased that 30kw generator at auction.
It was never used still on factory pallet. I hooked to the tractor it does not want to generate power . Does it have to be grounded before it will work? I have two small ones they generate without grounding. It was never used checked the brushes and amtiure no where at all. what would make it not work. I connected a light and motor.No power! Any Idea what could be wrong. Thanks

First I would check ALL of the breakers and look for an internal circuit protection. I'd probably check for voltages and shorts inside all of the covers.
You may have to "FLASH" the field to regenerate the maganitism in the exciter. According to the very smart people it can loose its maganitic effect.
I would probably recommend sending it to a gen shop and have it looked at if it is not something simple like a loose wire or bad switch/breaker.
