Case 646-76 with loader and tiller. The tractor no longer goes forward or reverse. I bought it 2 years ago and used it to move dirt around the yard for about 2 hours. The following spring it would not go forward or reverse but the bucket and tiller hydraulics work. Behind the seat, I took the plug out of the drive reservoir where the pump is located only to find beige coloured oil coming out of it. I never had it in water, what has happened and what do I need to do?

Until someone who knows that model chimes in, I'd drain that fluid (thoroughly and out of all ports if there's more than one) and install the right amount of the right kind. And replace any external system filters, and service any internal one.
Don't know what got into it but might be condensation or, if it was stored outside, rain or dew into a shift-lever boot. There are firms that analyze fluids. ....
