In my search for a compact tractor to use in building my house, dragging outfirewood, and clearing snow from the 1000' uphill wooded driveway, I have come across a few Belarus tractors with cabs at what seems to be a low price, thousands less than the other colors. They look like they are "chincy" comparedto others...I know of only one person who owns one (and he is happy...for themoney). Any comments/experiences would be most welcomed.

Hi Bruce...The Belarus is a strange bird. it is rather akward & not very operator friendly in comparison to most out there. You can get a lot of tractor for a lot less than others but keep in mind they have no resale because you didnt pay for resale in the first place. Like most products originating in communist block nations, they are built w/ heavy castings due to the lack of materials needed for modern alloys. they leak more than most, smoke more than most, and have unique transmissions & antiquated electrical systems. their engines are good cold weather starters and run reliably. They are pretty well established in the U.S. I have sold several in the past few years mostly to those who could't justify the expsense of more common models. I now have a 68hp 4wd w/loader & cab, self leveling loader, & a new clutch for sale for $8500 See my point? If it were green, blue, or one of the other colors it would be 12500+ good luck Jim ....
