 Temperature gage 2210

I was curious to see if anyone has an actual temperature gage on their tractor instead of the "idiot light". Please fill me in on the details where you got it and what the "normal" operating range would be.
Thanks in advance.

I think Deere cuts costs by not installing a temp gauge. My 4100 does not have one.

My Bx has a temp gauge but no tach. Go figure. If I had to choose between the two I would choose a tach.

I have a 2820 yanmar and it has a full temp. gage as well as an idiot light in the main gage cluster. the idiot light used to come on occationally, but since a spring radiator flush and refill doesn't come on any more. My temp. gauge sits rock steady in the center of the GREEN zone.

I discovered, quite by accident a few years ago speaking witha mechanic at our dealer, that almost all of the temerature and oil pressure sending units are NOT merely on/off switches. They are variable resistors which range from an absolute open circuit (usually when temp is at cold end of range, or pressure is at low end of range) to an almost dead short to ground (at full hot, or full pressure). The 'idiot' lights are set to come on at a preset point, depending on the application. If this is the situation with your setup, all you need to know is at what resistance it starts and finishes in order to get the right gauge, or calibrate it correctly.

In our case, we merely put an aftermarket gauge in parallel with the existing warning lamp and the gauge worked fine.

Best of luck.
