Does anyone know where there is a good place to get parts and information on this model. I had six trouble free seasons out of it until I sucked a log in to my snowblower. Everything locked up. I found some teeth from the gears in my transmission oil. I found a parts manual for $50.00, in Japanese only. I didn't order it yet. I don't even know what year it is.

Robert, the tractor was made in the late 80's, maybe even up to 1990. The parts book will work fine, the pictures show the parts, and the numbers are just the same as ours. Just the descriptions are in Japanese. The parts books have very good exploded views which help you see how best to take the unit apart. They are fairly simple to work on. Ernie up in Mollola, Oregon has one he is parting out, although I do not know if he would sell just one gear. I may have sent you his email address already? ....

I opened it up today and there is three chipped gears that mesh together. The PTO was in second gear so I am thinking that I can disable the second and third speeds on my PTO. This way I don't have to buy those gears. I can run everything at 540 rpm anyway. I will have a better look tomorrow. I exchanged emails with the guy in Oregon but in his last message he said he had a F28. I am going to check the clutch packs while I have everything apart. Does anyone know what the plate thickness should be? ....

Robert,
Look in the manual for the gears that you need
and see if they all fit the F18 & the FX18
The manual you have covers both machines F & FX
Let me know what you need, and we will take care of it.
I have an almost complete F18-D on 3 pallets.
Thanks Ern. ....

I already sent money for a parts book to Sheaffer's Town & Country Tractors. When I figure out what I need I will email you. I think I am going to rebuild my main clutch and the splines and coupler going to the transmission are a little worn. When I bought this tractor in 1997 noboady even heard of this model. I guess they are getting more popular. ....
