YM2820 Turf Tires & other things

I have a 2820 and am looking to get a spare set of rims and a set of turf tires for mowing about 3 acres of ground. Anyone have recommendations as to where to get used rims, and what size tires would be best? Can you use automotive type tires as substitute for turf tires?
Also need to know your opinions on what size and manuf. finish mower would be acceptable for this size tractor.
It is a 2 wheel drive unit, and I am new to this compact tractor thing. Would a belly mower be better than a rear PTO unit. Also! does my tractor have a "live" PTO, and if not, how difficult and expensive to convert to "live" PTO?
You prompt replies will be greatly appreciated, as I am READY to buy.

I usually tell my customers to try it with the rice tires before switching to turfs. They might not be as bad as you think.
It can handle a 7" finish mower. The advantage of a belly mower is that you can mow around things easier & closer. FM is cheaper. I have a quick mount belly mower up 6' wide that can be factory shipped to you.
The YM2820 doesn't have live power. It can't be converted to live power. The good news is that you can operate the tractor like it has live power by not using the clutch when you shift gears.

I have substituted truck and car tires for turfs with good success. It would be even easier to do with a two-wheel drive tractor, providing you can match the bolt pattern and the general overall size of the tire.

Check Gemplers for rims.

If it has HST then it has live PTO. With gear TX's maybe yes maybe no. You can tell by engaging the PTO and fully depressing the clutch to see if the PTO stops and then letting out the clutch to see if the PTO starts again before the tractor starts moving. Some PTO's free-wheel a bit so the test may require a bit of load on the PTO.

If the tractor is really liked and the deal is a good one, I'm not sure that live PTO or not is a very big deal. Quite a few brand new gear tractors still have TX driven PTO's and this design has been used for decades.

Live PTO allows a tractor to be clutched for gear changes without stopping the PTO. That's convenient for me since my snow blower chute clogs unless I let the fan clear snow off the auger before it stops. It's also convenient for 3ph mowers. I say convenient rather than essential because TX driven PTO's can be shifted to neutral before stopping the tractor and then the PTO keeps running.

The horror stories you hear about rotary cutters pushing tractors through fences and over embankments are mostly about old tractors that didn't have over-running clutches on their TX driven PTO's. Most TX driven PTO's have had internal over-running clutches for almost 20-years. Besides, external over-running clutches can be bought for not too much.

Conventional wisdom is that MMM's are better for finish mowing than 3ph mowers. They also are much more expensive, generally require a mid-pto drive and many are incompatible with a loader.
