Does anyone know where to get a complete owners manual, or service manual for the 2820. Also have problem with the tachometer not working. How difficult to repair/ replace?
Any reliability problems? does amyone have a finish mower recomendation for this unit? Can this tractor be adapted to hydraulic impliment use? I would sure appreciate any input from you who know the Yanmar tractor.
Thanks for any feedback.

There aren't English manuals for the
YM2820d , but I can supply manuals for
similar US models. It is possible to install remote hydraulics on your tractor. It can handle a 7' finish mower. sheaftractor@coiinc.com

I had a 2820, nice tractor. Koyker makes a mount kit for a loader and it fits well. Check the tach drive cable to make sure it is not the problem. Only problems I had were the fuel shut-off motor (replaced it) and a mildly noisy transmission when in 4wd and high range. Quiet in any other configuration. I tore the trnsmission apart, only to find everything like new. Never did find the problem. We measured every shaft and bearing that could cause such a noise and all was well. Quite a workhorse.

On the finish mower, we ran a 6 foot and the tractor did not know it was back there. You can certainly go bigger.

I found a bad tach cable on my 1710 when I took the tach end of the cable off and about a foot of the drive wire just pulled out.

A mechanic had removed the dash to work on the steering and just pushed the dash forward onto the hood rather than disconnect everything. The cable was crimped or it probably wouldn't have broken. After I replaced the cable I noticed that I could turn the tach end of the drive wire by hand and feel the lash in the drive gears. The same test probably would work here. I did refer to my manual before removing the drive end of the cable to check for specific procedures. Sometimes just unscrewing simple things can have unexpected consequences.
