 Machete brand 3PH chipper

I recently acquired a PTO chipper with a CAT 1 3PH connection. Only problem is I need to buy new knives for it and I have not been able to locate the manufacturer. Anyone heard of a "Machete"? The label also says "by Jollyhoe" and lists the manufacturer as Pacific Mach. Mfg. of Portland, OR. The unit has 4x6 throat, double belt drive, and seems to weigh only about 250lb. There are 2 knives, 8" long, 3/8" thick. If I could find knives with 3/8" mounting holes 2.25" apart, that would work, too. I could cut them down to 8" if necessary.

It might be less grief, and cheaper, to get them somewhere else. If you check around your area I'm sure you will find several 'millwork' shops, people who make custom trim & mouldings. They will undoubtedly know where to buy blades, since they constantly need them for their shapers and cutters.

Your machine probably has some industry standard blade from something else, in fabrication custom equates to expensive, using a standard part from something else is easier, faster, and cheaper.

Best of luck.

You might contact Wesspur about making chipper knives for your machine. I spoke with Brady there last week about making knives for my Jinma chipper and the prices seemed reasonable.

Did you ever find blades for your chipper? I have the same unit and need blades also. LEt me know if you found a source.

Here's another source in Wis. who is an OEM to Toro, Deeres and many others. They are getting back into aftermarket blades that they used to make for other OEM's. The parent co. is Fisher-Barton. If you talk to them tell them Jeff from Earthwerks in Michigan sent you. Ask for Sue.

Is there anyway to drill holes and adapt other blades to your unit. Maybe I am grasping for straws.

I have lots of options, but would love to find blades that fit it by default. I have a couple companies looking for me right now.

I sold the unit to a friend who cut his own blades on a
milling machine. The steel was a medium hard hot-rolled
composition. The supplier I found wanted nearly $200 for a
pair.
