Temp Power for Lincoln MIG Welder

Does anyone know if you can make an extension cord and run 220 power to a welder from an oven 220 line? Or a dryer. This assumes only a couple of minutes of use at the low power setting. Or can a 220 v generator be used? So far we have had trouble finding plugs that match up. The welder has two blades and a round pin in a triangle orientation. Is it possible to make a receiver plug for the welder and then a plug to plug in the generator or the oven outlet?
Has anyone faced this?

Thanks !

RD

Ahhh Moving the stove and welding in the kitchen...You are a braver man than me or not married. Of course you can make an extension cord. I never saw it done for the stove but for dryers. It is just a matter of matching up the plugs. Youa are gonna need to some big wire. I have some 50 amp motorhome cable that I use but it probably is actually to small.

It's not recommended but you can.

Here's how I've done it: Get a 3/8 cable the lenght you need (within reason 20-25'max) put a stove plug on one end and your welder receptical on other.

Make sure your stove is a 50amp breaker and the cables are at least 8ga.

If you could not do it they would not sell the plug ends. I use an extension cord for my 460VAC 3phase welder and plasma cutter. Just make sure you have the correct size wire. Go to you local electric supply house and tell them what you want to do and they will get you what you need. I used 4/0ga.for my equipment. You will only need 3/1 or 3/2
