 cab removal

I am looking at a NH4430 that suits me except it has a factory cab that I don't want or need (at least in the summer). Does anyone have experience removing one? I know that the frame provides roll-over protection so it may need to stay. Maybe I could retrofit an ROPS? I'd appreciate any comments.

I would look for another tractor. If you can't just remove the doors and live with that why pay for the cab. If the tractor is that much of a bargin than buy it and resell it or trade it in. Many times tractors with cabs do have different controls and they would not be sheltered if the cab is removed causing premature failure of them.

Thanks for the advice, Art. It's priced such that I'm really not paying for the cab, and it has everything else that I need. I may just buy it and take out the doors and windshield during the warm months. I looked at it again today and it looks like removal of the cab would be possible but difficult. How much value is attached to a factory cab with A/C etc?

Cabs with air are normally about 7000. at retail if all works I'd put a premium of 2500 minimum. I know you maybe into the great outdoors thats what we live to play for but to remove the doors and windshield is not the best way to go. I would look at some options to get you what you might find ideal.
