Hello !I have the option to buy a Ford 1500 4WD compact tractor with a front loader, a back-hoe and a snow blower. It seems in good condition. What would be the value and where can I get the specification for this tractor such as Hp, Pto Hp, number of cylinders etc. I would apreciate a response since my option is valid until next friday.Regards.RoCo

The repair manual for 13, 15 & 1710 tractors gives 22 engine hp for the 1510. A
the 1510 has an engine ID of K773 stamped of the side of the block. I'm guessing that a 1500 has the same engine. Figure on losing about 1.5 horse
to the PTO.

I can't exactly say about value, but I gave $25,000CAN for a 1710 4wd this summer. A loader came with the tractor, but the back hoe and snow blower were new.

The tractor had 500 hours on the meter, and I have to assume the hours are accurate. The meters on these tractors only go to 999.9 hours. So, it's possible that a 500 hour tractor can really be a 1,500 or 2,500 hour tractor.

If you, as I, arn't really capable of evaluating the condition of a tractor, it's probably a good idea to buy from a dealer. A dealer at least has some interest in reputation and repeat business and is less likely than an individual
to scam you. You'd also expect the tractor to be gone over by a mechanic before
the sale.

Even so, it's handy to know the right questions to ask. Does the
dealer know the hours are accurate; Are there hydrolic oil leaks; Do the hydrolics operate smoothly?

I bought a Ford 1500 4WD with the Ford 770 loader this summer from a dealer for $6500. I have sort of compared since then and I feel that this price was in the ball park, especially since I bought it from a dealer. I have seen the 2WD without the loader advertised for the same price. The 1500 is a 20 HP tractor, 17 at the PTO. The 1X10 series used the 3 cylinder diesel the 1500 is a two cylinder. I have been happy with this tractor and it has done everything I have needed it to do so far, working mostly in the woods. I have not had it out of 4wd though for more than about 5 minutes Smile I would think the backhoe and snowblower could add 2-4k to the price depending on their condition.

Good Luck

Kim
