Larger Bucket for JD 770 ?

Hi! I have a JD 770 with a 48" bucket. Does anyone know of an after market implement dealer that would have a larger bucket to fit my tractor. I know that JD makes 54" and 60" buckets for my tractor but they are all the same depth front to back. I would like a deeper one for snow removal, shoveling dirt into for dumping later, etc. Thanks for any suggestions. David Williams

Are you sure your 770 will handle a larger bucket? I have a 790 with a 70 loader and the 54 inch bucket. I had some clay piled up waiting to be moved, went to do so after a rain and had trouble lifting up a heaping bucket of the wet stuff. No problem with dry stuff. I guess I was at the limits of the hydraulics on the tractor. For larger buckets, check with skid loader dealers for sources. I came across a welding shop in Pennsylvania around Landcaster that made buckets to order, wasn't looking for one so I don't remember the name. I do remember the price being around $500 each.

Larger Bucket for JD 770 ?

Hi Halsey! Thanks for the reply. Yes I do realize that a larger bucket does not mean a heavier load. I would want a larger bucket for snow, leaves, shoveling dirt, etc. The 48" bucket that I have now I can fill up with 3 dumps from my grass catcher from my 21" walk behind Honda! I just like the idea of using the bucket like a lawn cart so that I don't have to empty it by hand. I thought that maybe an after market retailer might have a bucket to used for something like grain, manure, etc. Thanks for your input. C. David Williams

Larger Bucket for JD 770 ?

Dave
the cheapest way to get a bigger bucket is to go to a welding shop and have them just had more to the bucket you already have
if you find a good shop they can make it so you can bolt and unbolt your extensions when ever you want
i did it to the bucket on my 855 and it works great for only spending around $100.00
hope this helps you out
