 Scarifer bar?

I see land pride makes a scarifer bar attatchment. I have never seen one of these before, does anyone know or have any idea how this works in the field? Also looks pretty simple to duplicate?

 Scarifer bar?

Brokenarrow, I don't know about a dedicated scarifier such as the Land Pride. but I have a scarifier option on my York rake, it works great for loosening up hard packed soil that can then be worked with the rake. I would imagine the Land Pride works even better and has several depth settings. The only drawback I see is that it is a one trick pony! Mike.

Exactly, along with it looks like it wieghs next to nothing, and was wondering if it would just push back up to the top, unless the curvature of the scarifers kinda pull it downward?

 Scarifer bar?

brokenarrow, As I said, I have it on my york rake with a total weight of 313 lbs. I had no problems with skipping or jumping, maybe over a large rock or two. A reason for the good digging maybe the fairly aggressive angle? I am glad I have it as an attachment for the rake, it was kind of expensive ($250.00??) but worth it when you can't get a bite with with the rake teeth, and need to loosen it up first. I don't know how much the Land Pride costs, but in my mind I still can't justify the single job it does. If I needed something for just a small job I might build something like a single or double tooth ripper, or maybe just shoot the whole load and buy a rear tiller! Mike.
