 York Rakes - usuages ??

Hello all,

I have seen a York rake which I need to find out a little more on how they are used. Are they good for raking leaves, twigs, sticks and other debris? or do they dig too deep into soil for that type of work? I have a JD 4100, I would need to know whats the largest York rake I could use on it?

Thanks!

I use mine to rake pine needles. You need to be careful not to apply too much pressure as it the ground is soft you can rip the grass.
I have Centipee so it responds negatively to scarifying. If you have other types it may be fine.
The guide wheels help.

I HAVE A ORIGINAL 6FT UNIDILLA,NY (YORK RAKE),THEY ARE GREAT FOR TWIGS, PINE NEEDLES,ROCK ECT. YOU CAN VERY YOUR RESULTS BY ADJUSTING YOUR TOP LINK (NEGATIVE-FOR JUST DRAGING),POSITIVE-FOR LIGHT SCARIFYING.

HOW EVER DO YOUR SELF A REAL FAVOR AND DONT BE CHEAP!!!!
BUY THE CASTORS,DROP AND DRAG INSTEAD OF DROP AND WORRYING ABOUT YOUR NECK THE NEXT DAY !!!!!

YOU WILL HATE YOUR SELF IF YOU HAVE TO SKIP A DAY ON RIDING THAT "MONSTER" YOU HAVE.

I HAVE A JD 790 AND A 6FT IS GREAT ,AT AN ANGLE I HAVE PLENTY OF ROOM TO FURROW IN ONE DIRRECTION WITHOUT RUNNING OVER YOUR PILES.MEASURE THE WIDTH OF YOUR TRACTOR AND ADD 2FT/ONE FT PER SIDE FOR ANGLING ,LIKE A PLOW BLADE.
