 Cat0 Scraper with Cat1 Tractor?

Have a nice Gannon cat0 rollover scraper that I'd like to use with my new Kubota Bx22. It looks like I'll need to move the lower arm attachment points. Does anyone make a cat1 top link with a cat0 end? Other ideas welcome.

You can buy a bushing, basically a steel sleeve, to take up to extra inside diameter. Or buy a BIG drill bit. I have opened up some holes to inch and if I were to do it again I would probably go rent the biggest drill motor I could find. I just about burned up my B&D inch drill last time. The gear reduction box was smoking hot.

Thx Mark. I'm gonna try the bushing route for now. I got an extra cat1 top link and had to grind down the sleeves on the top link end a bit to fit the cat0 receiver. For the lift arms I plan to add a third link pin slot with some bushings. This way I can always revert to a Cat0 configuration.

I suppose this is obvious advice but I'd get extra bushings. I use some to go from CAT II loops to CAT I pins. I have them in two lengths since the standard length ones are too long to fit in the tractor's top-link bracket. Sure is a pain when I can't find one right away--even though I try to keep a separate set of pins and leave the bushings on all the time. It would be even more of a pain to loose one and not be able to work without going to town first.

Gannon has a reputation for toughness. I would keep in mind that the hitch mounts are common points of failure for box scrapers. The mounts for a CAT 0 scraper are likely to be lighter than on a CAT I scraper. The tractor may have more power and traction than the scraper was designed for. Checking the HP range for the scraper might be a good idea.

Tom, good advice, thx. I'll check with Gannon on the HP range for the scraper though, as you say, it is very sturdy. I plan to pin the lower arm to all 3 hinge points, the 2 existing and the new one I'm adding to handle the extra width of the cat1 arms. Will require about a 5in pin and should spread the stress of the extra HP.

The main stress point for the box blade will be the lower pins. I recently borrowed a box blade from a friend, He uses the cat 1 with a larger tractor. The lower pins were bent in a circle. I ended up replacing them but don't know how long they will last.
