 All-American Box Blade

Anyone ever hear of an All-American brand box blade? It's painted red and seems to be very heavy duty (reinforced corner wedges, etc.) has replaceable blades both front and rear - no data plate anywhere. I bought it used, and I think the guy told me it originally came from Oklahoma. Any info appreciated - thanks!

 All-American Box Blade

Looks like nobody has heard of 'All American' brand scrapers. Some large regional welding shops manufacture implements, although most of them are probably in the trailer manufacturing business these days. There is little marketing, and it's not unusual if few people have ever heard of them. Never the less, they can be perfectly good implements. For a box scraper, it probably would be a good idea to make sure that the replaceable cutters are of a type that is actually available. Same might be said for the scarifies--and especially if the tips are replaceable. In general, the weight of a scraper, for its width,is a good indicator of quality. Heavier ones also work better. You might compare the scrapper's weight to those of some of the better known scrapers. I believe that scrapers are prone to 3ph mount failures. You might want to pay some attention to the mounts. My dealer changed suppliers because he didn't like the mount design from one manufacturer.
