Help, I have 8 acres of pasture and light brush to cut. I have a Ford Model 1920 tractor, and I need to get a cutter. I have seen a Woods XT?? do a pretty good job. I have been told to stay away from King Kutter, and know nothing about Bushhog. I could really use some help deciding which unit to purchase, because I know nothing about cutting. (new to tractors/cutters). Thanks.

Bush Hog and Woods cutters are good mowers. This comment comes from personal use of each type. A suggestion for rotary cutters is to get a slip clutch for the mower. Hitting hidden stumps or big rocks or mounds of dirt will do much more damage to your tractor and its PTO system than the mower, if you do not have a slip clutch. My advice is to get a slip clutch and set it loose, rather than tight.

I have a 6ft Bush Hog Squeeler and pounded the snot out of it mowing 20+ acres of heavy brush this spring, (steady diet of 1 - 2 inch elm & hardhack). It is hardly broken in and has performed like a champ.
