i have a kubota L3410 HST 4WD with about 800 hrs on it and i am noticing some oil/fluid leaking out of the seals where the axles pivot to turn. is this a common problem and does anyone know how to disassemble the knuckles to get the seals replaced?

I assume it has 4wd. I'm not sure if the leaks occur where the wheels turn on the axles or where the axle pivots around the drive shaft. Unfortunately, considerable tear down would be required in either case. I'd worry some if hydraulic oil is coming out of the axle pivot point. Seals in the area generally are on the other side of the differential and between the axle housings and differential—could be different on your tractor I guess. Grease from the pivot point is another question and it's probably not a problem.

Oil from the seals near the wheels (on the final reduction gear cases on my Ford) may be an aggravation but tearing it down to replace seals probably is more trouble than just topping up the axle oil more often. I would check to make sure if the axles aren't over-filled though. If filled when the tractor isn't setting level, the axle could be overfilled.

Those seals can be damaged by dirt. First we try to seal them the easy way by just changing to gear oil instead of hydraulic fluid. If you haven't done that yet you will probably have some success that way. Your owners manual tells you about the the two diferent fluids being used.
