 Light problems on Ford 1910

Purchased '85 Ford 1910 and replaced housing for wires to have the one light working on both low and high beams. Two weeks later, other one doesn't work on high beams. Is there something that is easily fixable or do I need to buy another housing for the light? Thanks!

These lights suffer from poor connections right at the lamp under the fender; also at the rear of the hitch cover inside the fenders. Also the grounding can go bad between the lamp unit and the fender.

Yes, Rick definitely has it right, or at least that's the experience with my 1710. If you have a volt-meter, you can pull the connectors under the fender and take readings on both the high and low beam lines to see if voltage is getting as far as the fenders. Readings also can be taken directly from the bulb socket. I also cured a number of intermittent problems by removing the fuses and cleaning both the fuse ends and the holders. Iíve got my head lights completely working, except for a bulb that's burnt out. I haven't got around to replacing the bulb since the headlights are pretty well useless when a loader is mounted. The headlight bulbs are the same base used in many snowmobiles, but standard snowmobile bulbs are higher wattage. I havenít figured out yet if higher wattage bulbs would stress the circuit. Unfortunately the flasher remains cranky. I put a magnetic rotating type on top my canopy that is probably better than the flashers anyway. Maybe I wonít get around to replacing the flasher. The fuel tank probably has be removed.
