hydraulic tip link and draft system

I have ordered a 3rd srv control for use with a hydraulic top link on the 3 pt hitch so that I canchange the tilt of some implements. Would this addition effect the operation of thedraft sensing control system on my tractor? I plan on using hydraulic top link with thebox scraper and rock rake, but when I use ground engaging implements the top link will be set and left alone.

Norman, what you put between your upper link attachment point and the implement itself would have little effect on how the draft sensing circuit operates, provided, you did not significantly change the geometry and so long as the upper link is rigid and not 'springy' at all. Best of luck.

hydraulic tip link and draft system

I have carried on a number of times about how I control the action of my box scraper almost entirely with the hydraulic top-link. Maybe there are other techniques, but I change the top-link very frequently on the fly when using the box. As far as I know Murf is right, and the draft control wouldn't be affected as long as the top-link isn't changed during operation, but otherwise the draft control might be activated. On the other hand, I think most draft controls are adjustable between disabled and light. There probably would be draft setting that would provide the designed performance. Myself, I haven't experienced draft-control, but I'm not sure I'd want a very sensitive draft control when using a box for grading. Seems like anytime the 3ph lifted, it may screw up the grade or dump the box. I suppose a fairly heavy setting that lifted the 3ph just before traction broke would be useful. Breaking traction while grading screws up the grade too.
