 Sticky throttle cable

Anyone have a good way to lube the hand throttle cable on my NH 1725? It's sticking in the cold weather and It seems pretty much inaccessible. I'm sure WD-40 or equivalent would fix it but I can't get there from here...

If it is the type which has a bare metal spiral sleeve, sort of like a spring, it is fairly easy to do. Gradually warm the sleeve with a torch, do not get it too hot, then soak it with wd-40 or some other very thin oil. The heat will draw it in to the center cable and it will get progressively easier to move. If you keep the outer spiral shield wet with 10w-30 or the like, it will help prevent this in the future. It is caused by moisture seeping through the outer shield and rusting on the inside, the oil will create a barrier. Best of luck.

 Sticky throttle cable

my 1530 does the samething.mine's not the cable, but the friction disk in the throttle lever.it happened 3 years ago when it was brand new.i loosened the nut on the lever and it didn't help.that area of the tractor has no was for air to pass through it to help dry it out.it happened today to me when i tried to start it to put the blade on.(it was 6 degrees here in the st.louis area today and the weather man says 5 to 7 inchs of snow by tomorrow night.)anyway the way i can tell is when it warms up it gets a little foggy in the dash.to help with the problem i set the throttle at about 1000 rpm when i shut it off.when i start it backup its got enough to start but not enough to run to fast to hurt the hydro or hydraulic.hope this helps.good luck.
