I have a 393 Massey ferguson that after bush hogging for awhile this dash light will appear. If the rpm or increased the light will go away then if the rpm or dropped again it will reappear. I shut the tractor off for about ten minutes start it back up and light will stay off for awhile. Temp is normal and I have the correct amount of oil. Not sure what this light is telling me. I bought a manual but it doesn't trouble shoot or explain dash images. Can somebody help.

I would check the oil level, could be low.
Check the oil filter, could be plugged up or have water in oil.
If all that checks out, change the oil sending unit.
it could be having issues.

I think that is the oil light, check oil or replace it and filter, I bet it will go off.
If water is in Oil You may have a head gasket that is bad also. ....

Worse case could be a weak oil pump. Might look about checking oil pressure with a gauge. ....

Check the manual to see if it has a spring loaded oil pressure relief in the block.
Sometimes they lift when a tractor is started up with thick oil(cool oil) and don't reseat completely causing oil pressure to be low. They usually have a plug you can remove and you will find a spring and a plunger. Springs get week and plunger holes some times need a little cleaning.
Easy and cheap to fix if this is the issue.
Tractor engine diagrams usually show them.

Also dropping the pan and using a borescope check for trash on the oil pick up tube screen. That can do the same thing.

Checking oil pressure with a manual gauge will confirm if pressure is actually low or sending unit is bad.

How many hours are on engine?
Worn out engines can have loose bearings causing oil pressure to drop when it gets thin.

What weight oil are you using? It could be wrong weight oil ditto can cause oil pressure to drop.

Last thing to do is using heavy weight oil. Not recommended unless engine is high time and as a last resort.

Way too complicated way too fast. - Check the colour of your fluid first. If it is clean then change your filter ( or if you don't know how long it has been used then change it as well - that will give you a time and hour number to base your future fluid changes on ). Yes, it could be all the rest of those things, but what it looks like to start with is just pressure buildup from a clogged filter. That would go with a period of fairly heavy use using the brush hog. ....

Thanks guys. Great information. I changed the filter in the last 15 hours with fluids but going to change the filter just in case. If that doesn't work Iam going to put a aftermarket mechanical pressure gauge and watch the pressure when bush hogging. Once again thanks for all the great advice. Will keep updated. Hopefully just a clogged oil filter. ....

I did a quick search and this should help you with the missing information on indicator lights ( no trouble shooting, but it's always nice to know the wiring.) ....

The link didn't seem to work. - Just type in google.com/patents/US4216524 in your search engine search bar and the lighting and wiring diagrams will come up at the top of the page. ....
