Ford New Holland TD80D - throttle control of RPM speed

What causes the engine to rev uncontrollably? I have changed fuel filters, and bled fuel line. Does this mean there is a problem with the rotary injection pump, or can the problem be resolved a better way? If I need to replace the rotary injection pump, how do I remove it from the engine?

My tractors may be a bit older, but they have a governor which controls the engine speed on the ones I am familiar with.

There might be two ways of this happening with a diesel engine. One is a shortage of air to fuel. The other would be the govenor failing allowing the engine to over rev.

Thanks for replying. How do I adjust the governor?

This is where I do not know, you would be looking for a spring attached to an eye bolt attached to a lever. The adjustment would be to loosen the nut on the bolt and shorten or lengthen. As I do not have your specific tractor, I could not say where the adjustment may be.
