I think I build the smallest backhoes in the world
for compact tractors.

let me know what you think.

That's ok.... you won't like what you see there.

Pull it up and remove the extra "http//" from the address.

Well, I guess at least with a 4" square boom you wouldn't have to be worried about breaking your CUT in half...

Or worried about being able to actually dig much either for that matter.

I found it interesting to read the testimonial about the guy who wore out a 5hp gas engine from running his backhoe day after day, of course he doesn't say if all that run time was for more than one hole either.....

Of course at $3500 I would think you would be better off just buying a good used REAL backhoe.

Best of luck.

You are comparing apples to oranges....the kit built
unit you are referring to for $3500 is self-propelled
and not an attachment. They are usually for those who
do not have tractors. You are comparing it to the "real"
backhoe ATTACHMENTS, which require a tractor. I built a similar CADDigger from plans and it was quite useful. I also have b/h attachments for my tractors. See "Kit-built Backhoe" thread on this site.

The price does not seem all that great. I bought a Rhino 75 which is Identicle to a NH 757 for about $1400.00 more than you want for your cat 1 hoe. The Rhino has a subframe and hyd stabelizers and is a more beefy machine. I think for the money the Rhino is a much better deal

I see several other anomalies with the "smallest and best".

As the Doc pointed out there are no hydraulic stabilizers and no sub-frame to protect the tractor from twisting in half.

I wonder why there is no compound linkage on the bucket... every other design on the market uses compound linkage to get the digging performance required for hard soil and rocks.

And how about those controls? I am counting four levers where you would expect to see only two.

The overall appearance is that someone has tried to re-invent the wheel and it came out sort of square.

Save your money and buy an electric spade. No they don't make em, but if I drilled a hole in the handle of a shovel and glued a cord in it, someone would buy it and claim how much better it is.

Oops, my error. $3500 is for the 3 pt attachment, $4350
is for the self-propelled. Just sold my CADDigger on Ebay for $3051. It is a self-propelled 900 lb machine. No hydraulic outriggers, only 120-degree swing. My commercial backhoe attachment is built better and only cost a little more.
