FEL snow plow, how to control loader arm height?

I have just attached an old 6 1/2 foot fisher plow to the front end loader on my Kubota L3400 with quick detachable bucket. It piviots on the plate atached to the front of the FEL. What I can't figure out is how to limit the down travel of the FEL loader arms so the don't hit the ground and so it is pushing the plow level.

I am the wrong one to ask as I don't have a Kubota, but can't you place the loader on float? Both my JD and BushHog have float positions.

We generally don't ahve a problem with this, are you on really uneven ground? Or is the FEL too low in the first place?

The simple solution would be to keep the FEL up a little further.

Skid shooes would work also, but don't use them and then set the FEL to 'float' or you will lose a LOT of front wheel traction.

Best of luck.

Yes it does have a float position. Guess I just need to not lower arms all the way, just wondered if there was some better way to do it. Thanks for the replys.

Can't you just tip the bucket down a little more. That is all I do on mine and it works fine.

If you look at my picture # 15 you will see you have the same setup as mine.

The picture doesn't show the clearance very well because of the angle though. There is probably about a foot of clearance under the subframe.

Best of luck.

Murf,
It appears that you set the "bucket angle" and then disconnect the hydraulics and connect the plow angle cylinders to the bucket angle ports on the loader valve, correct? Your loader valve would then operate the plow angle and the loader arms?

Great setup.
